The ISASMELT is a bath smelting process using a lance through which air or oxygen enriched air is injected into molten slag creating a hoighly turbulent molten bath. Feed material added from the top of the furnace then reacts rapidly in the molten bath. Frozen slag on the surface of the lance provides protection and extends lance life. |
